This wine immediately captures our attention with its deep dark purple colors as might be expected for this youthful Napa Valley Merlot.
The nice intensity on the nose strikes us with ripe plums, black cherries with hints of mocha to name a few of the interesting aromas. And then leaves us with a unique pot-pourri.

The flavors follow with added notes of blackberries and an earthy undertone. The wine is medium-full bodied with bright acidity and a silky mouthfeel that is elegant and well-balanced. We are left with a long, lingering finish.

This is the third vintage of Merlot from the Coombsville sub AVA within the Napa Valley, with whom we have a long term contract. This AVA is becoming known as one of the premier areas to grow Merlot. All the merlot in this wine as well as a small percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon(3%), that we blended to add a little more structure and complexity are from this vineyard. Enjoy this wine now for its bright fruit and easy drinkability and save some for aging as it will age nicely for 10 years or longer.
